Yeah, $1,049 dollars is ROUGH, I really hope they drop prices whenever the markets one day get better and maybe make a mid-gen upgrade for a more fair price instead of waiting years for a huge upgrade like they are for the Steam Deck.
Side note - I genuinely love the unscripted conversation at the end of the video. In a review as, shall we say, complicated as this one, it's nice to see a little bit of editorializing about the actual overall value.
Significantly slower than a base PS5 and significantly more expensive than a PS5 Pro? That's a really tough sell, even with the extra flexibility.
The biggest flashbang was going to Microcenter and seeing 2tb of m.2 storage for 600+ dollars, which just a few years ago was under 100
1k for a device weaker than a base ps5 is crazy work.

If you compare the Steam Deck OLED launch price (569€) to the new one (779€), that’s a +210€ increase (about 31%). Applying that same difference to the Steam Machine would put it at around 722€.
Ngl not even bundling the controller at that price is insane
