Hairdresser here 40 years +. your roots will always come up a different color because it is your fresh and natural uncolored hair. Your hair at the ends is already colored so it will take different from your roots. It’s already light so you can expect a different color on the ends from your roots always. Roots should be first with no ends involved .roots only. Wait for them to come up and yes, he is good to help open the hair shaft to accept the color but, put a plastic bag on your head to keep the hair color moist so it can do its job. Check it in about 25 or 30 minutes.. All of this is for your box color things would be just slightly different in a Salon. Hope this helps.

It will lift ur natural roots, resulting in different colors on roots and ends. U would need to use two did colors(one for the roots, and one for the ends) to get the same color.
