Our team returned to install a 200-liter solar hot water system on the roof, giving us the possibility of hot showers powered by the Portuguese sun. We also installed our very first air conditioner and dehumidifier, an important step toward creating a healthy, comfortable home and securing our habitation license. Inside the mill, we finished grouting and sealing the theater room and foyer floors, continued preparing the lower bathroom, and made progress on plumbing connections for our future laundry room. Meanwhile, our carpenter returned to transform the rough staircase structure into what may be one of our favorite features in the entire house — a handcrafted, bespoke European oak staircase 😍 As we get closer to move-in day, we're also starting to ask bigger questions: Where will the furniture go? What will daily life actually look like inside this house? After more than a decade of living in small spaces, imagining life inside a full-sized home feels both exciting and unfamiliar.
