I used to love seeing the baseball fields it added a little charm....I remember the dolphins had a baseball field on theirs to before they moved to the hard rock...I used to make that my field type in Madden on create a team

I got to play on first gen AstroTurf and let me tell you, it's a concrete pad with some green plastic on top that cuts your skin like regular grass. I also played baseball for a long time, that brick will tear you up.

I've played on old school AstroTurf twice for state championships. It's carpet on top of concrete. Just tears chunks of skin off.

People saying baseball players do this all the time don’t realize nfl players are being HIT onto this dirt and 90% of nfl players are significantly bigger then baseball players so they’re colliding with the ground with more weight on top of being hit by strong grown men running at them at 20 miles per hour

I remember being much younger and stepping on a field that had blue astroturf. I had been told "it's what the pros play on" so I was excited to experience it. Literally thought they had painted over a concrete parking lot. I couldn't believe people play football and get tackled on it.

The NFL of the 90s no one cried about it.
