I was your last match of this tournament! The moment I saw your team I knew it was a very uphill battle for me, as you saw I got multiple aggressive predictions correct in Game 2 and still lost. My Tinkaton was actually slow, I spent all my VP recruiting Pokemon because I only got Champions yesterday on mobile so I couldnt afford the Occa Berry which is my usual set, that's why I couldn't Encore the Gholdengo. I am very proud that you thought I played well, and I'm proud I gave Perish Song a solid showing! You played really well and you obviously have a very intricate understanding of this archetype so I have absolutely no shame about losing to you. Sorry that your tiebreaker wasn't good enough to top cut! Edit: Also I ran the damage calculator and max Attack Adamant Basculegion had a 25% chance to KO my Primarina, although I fear the game was already lost by then!
Screw it we Zap Cannon Screw it we Zap Cannon Screw it we Zap Cannon
Hi, Wolfe, I also competed in this tournament. I never got to go against you, but the possibility of it put so much fear into me I actually managed to lock in and got one of my highest placements in a tournament ever. So, uh, thanks for being terrifyingly good at this game, I guess? Edit: for those curious, i placed 22nd.
I love Pokémon.
0:49 the legendary gholdengo intro edit.🤑🤑🤑
0:34 For future reference for the editing team, the RTX of the Switch 2 makes it so we can see the reflection of the Pokémon on the floor. No harm done.
Wolfey's opponents: Yeah man Wolfe has done so much for the competitive Pokemon scene. Dude is a legend. We honestly cant thank him enough for everything he has done and we always wish him well. Wolfe: that cant be good for me
0:54 ah yes i missed this edit
Reminds me of being a little kid and teaching my Umbreon Zap Cannon and then proceeding to use it indiscriminately against any non-ground type Pokemon that crossed our path until Umbreon reached level 100.
I love that it has the Gholdengo edit whenever it comes up
Please never stop playing that song when Gholdengo arrives. Always cracks me up😂

10:55 I am running a Final Gambit, Choice Scarf Staraptor named One Stone. Just to remove that bird as soon as possible.
After the Toxapex and Steelix showing, I can't be sad about this team being less thought out. My team building is just vibes and testing, so the fact you jumped in with a barely tested team is honestly pretty honourable. World Champ bein' a World Champ always.
1:21 NGL, for the longest time I thought it lowered by 2 because that was the only thing that made sense to me balance wise. Glad it finally does.
The fact they didn't do asymmetrical cut for an online tournament is crazy, despite going 6-1 he doesn't even get to play out top 8
1:23:55 Wolfey: I am fighting perish song. I have gholdengo. how the tables turn
Great content Wolfey! you really inspire me to jump into VGC
1:11 Funny story about that. Was playing showdown earlier to test a team, opposing gholdengo misses both my pokemon and then gets frozen next turn.
Ive been watching Wolfey videos for a while, but I never actually played pokemon. When Champions came to mobile I decided to pick up the game and absolutely fell in love! Just made it to Ultra Ball tier last night, currently trying to round out a gravity/lucario team!
