The Backrooms is an urban legend and creepy pasta that tells the tale of an endless maze of randomly generated office rooms. It is characterized by the smell of wet carpet, walls with a monochromatic tone of yellow, and buzzing fluorescent lights. 4 years ALREADY is insane, doesn't feel like it.
A way you could add game replayability is by adding different level layouts rather than new levels. Each time you load up a new game it could be a different layout of the level. This stops players from just memorizing where to go every time they beat a level. You could also make each level's layout change every time you enter it again (which I feel like would be pretty backrooms-y).
Your back! Let’s goooooo Edit: Ok i never had this many likes.
Paused my goon session for this
procedural generation would easily fix the replayability issue, and it fits the premise of the backrooms as well
A good way to add replayability is just, add a Survival mode and make it so you can just, do whatever you want in it.
Fancy... I am begging you... PLEASE ADD THE GAMEMODES. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS. ALL I WANT IS TO TOUCH MY FRIENDS AS A SKINSTEALER.

Having a lot of levels isn't really a bad thing. What I'm intetested in is having them layed out in a cohesive way that makes sense narrively and gameplay wise. I don't eant levels to just get longer names and more dangerous as you progess for the sake of difficulty, I want them to follow the lore (from the wiki) and really try to tell as story, which is where I think the branching ending board will really shine. Something like the SCP wiki, where articles are linked and intertwinded and while each one has it's own story, the larger narrative is told across multiple of them.
I renember when this series started as one video I was SO obsessed with the backrooms back then. despite I'm not into the backrooms anymore I still wanna support you since I find this entire journey amazing aswell the concept too I hope you keep going :)
