this isn’t just the skatepark. i’ve had people tell me that it was weird to speak to people they didn’t already know personally. everything is cringy, performative, and creepy now.

Earbuds, playlists, online echo chambers and so much more have allowed people to slowly shape their world into exactly what they want it to be at all times, and it has truly lessened peoples ability or willingness to interact with a world that is not fully within their control or tailored to their liking. Been thinking about this for about a decade and its not so obvious at first but you definitely see it more and more, especially if youre and old head from before the internet and smart phones or even mp3 players were so ubiquitous
