You got to learn about platoons and matchups. When the pitcher has the same handedness as the batter it’s generally advantage pitcher, and when it’s opposite it’s advantage batter. If you play someone with a lot of lefties, it’s really helpful to have a great lefty in your bullpen to make it easier to get them.

The "Don't be greedy" strategy for doubles just doesn't really make sense in baseball. If you go to second you avoid the possibility of a double play and if you do ground out on the next at bat then the guy on 2nd can advance to third. In a scenario like at 21:04 where there is 0 outs, after you ground out with the 2nd guy, if you pop out in the outfield with the third guy you'll be able to tag up from 3rd and score a run off of the double. Being on second also allows you to score on an outfield single if the guy on 2nd is decently fast. Taking the single just doesn't do much for you when you have about a 90-95% chance of making it to 2nd when it hits the outfield wall like that.

You're not going often enough on obvious doubles. If you hit the gap with anyone above 20 speed, bend the corner and get the double. Sadly, baseball works like this sometimes. But there are ways to combat games where you are only getting singles and still get runs in, try speedier players that can steal bags and you'll be surprised how much better a single feels when you can steal second and third, then get a run in on a sac fly. Keep at it Matt!!
