for the reserves "burn" approach, the downside comes from the job efficiency buff since it's job efficiency and not just job output, the upkeep and output increase at the same rate (since it's +50%, thats 1.5x output and 1.5x upkeep, ignoring other modifiers) it also only applies to specialists/complex drones, the ones who are really going to be burning through your energy and minerals

The negative for burn is built in, basically. Job efficiency +50% basically means all of that type of job now make 1.5x as much output, at 1.5x the cost. It's relatively balanced, as it just means that you're growing your resource output without needing to build more buildings or grow more pops. I'm only 3 minutes in and can predict many operational reserve shortages soon lmao.
