I think the "timeless gameplay" is a twofold reference to the time mechanic of the game, and also the high status the game holds in gaming history

I'm looking forward to OOT Remake, I turn 37 next week and I remember getting it back on the N64 release. I'm glad it's not TOTK and BOTW art style, looking forward to the new orchestrated music arrangements 💜

It would be cool if they added all of the things they had to take out of the first one and then also pair it with an og version to play after words like master quest
It will be like Links awakening remake. - exactly same game with modern graphics. - lots of quality of life improvements. - modern controls and features. - some extra content. Link's awakening dx had color dungeon. Remake had dungeon maker. Twilight princess hd had new wolf link challenge dungeon. It will have some new isolated content. Maybe new side quests. But I think depending on who makes there is a very slim chance that it will be reimagining. Maybe this oot is in different timeline. They said rebirth of ocarina of time. I think this is not the case but is not impossible as well.
I hope Spyro 4: A Realm Beyond implies the Legend of Spyro and Skylanders games are alternate universes. Crash Bandicoot 4 did something similar.
I still remember owning a couple of Tiger Electronics handhelds like Sonic the Hedgehog and if I remember correctly, Street Fighter.

Ocarina being the less controversial out of the most viewed trailers actually makes it even more impressive, because for good or for bad, controversy attacks views.
Just because a game is a remake doesn't mean it has to be different from the original, there are plenty of examples of shot for shot remakes like the Spyro trilogy, the Crash trilogy, the Tony Hawk Pro Skater remakes, and the Halo Anniversary remakes
Summer Games Fest was definitely my favorite one. I think if it had ended with a different game like RE Veronica and started with FFVII it would've been better
Timeless I think means there might be changes, but the changes will be things that have become staples of Zelda. So being able to control the camera with a joystick is at this point what we might consider timeless because it's just expected to work that way since Wind Waker.
