Ii always find the phrase 'second generation Irish 'a bit wrong . As i think it should be first generation Irish if your patents are Irish ....your the first generation Irish being born away from Ireland. Because if parents are Irish they are not first anything they are Irish. So two Irish people make a baby in another country means your the first generation not to be born in Ireland and your children would be second generation. That s just my thoughts and i have no qualification just pondering the term....no t a criticism just sharing my thought .

Dermots parents frm beautiful Wexford where I spent my childhood holidays in Courtown and kilmuckridge. Hope wexford go all the way to the hurling final I love there Jerseys there my favourite colours

Dermot is very Irish very Wexford but with a London sensibility. Hes a great member of the London Irish creative community. I remember Terry Wogan being very supportive of him, rightly so, hes got very Irish communication skills and is a fundamentally decent man like my Irish Dads relatives are.
