This week we took a family trip to Florida, but while we were there, we did something we’ve been talking about for a long time… we started looking at houses. Over the past several months, we’ve had a lot of conversations about what the future might look like for our family. Is Tennessee still home? Could Florida be our next chapter? The truth is, we’re still figuring it out. In this vlog, we’re taking you along as we tour several homes, explore different areas, and talk through some of the possibilities we’re considering. We don’t have all the answers yet, but we wanted to bring you into the process and share this journey as it unfolds. Whether this ends up being the start of something new or simply helps us gain clarity on what we want for our family, we’re excited to have you along for the ride. Lydia I can't imagine how heartbroken your dad and especially your mom would be if you moved to Florida. Your children have such a special bond with your parents. I lost my grandparents at a young age and being a Nana now I realize that children who have grandparents are blessed.
I am in Tampa. We lived in Knoxville for 8 years until my job got eliminated during covid, which moved us back to Florida. I miss Knoxville ALOT. Keep in mind with Florida, the car and home insurance is extremely high, property taxes are very high and you need to make sure you are not in a flood zone which will increase your home insurance. Hurricane can be very costly if you live near the beach as well. I am 5 miles from the ocean. Normally July and August is our hottest months but, June has been very hot this year.
I cant deal with Florida humidity. Snakes, gator & the bugs!!
Lydia, I thought you had a skin condition where water irritates it?? How would living at the beach affect your skin?
You should really really PRAY, PRAY, PRAY about moving to Florida. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Be aware of hurricanes! Any gulf states you’ll have potential to lose your home. Hurricanes are not fun and the humidity is miserable.
My biggest concern would be hurricanes.
Gulf side/ panhandle area has much clearer water and white sand which doesn’t get so hot. Also, it’s been said when you’re moving to a new area you should always rent for a year and not buy in case you don’t like it
Ryker with his airplane everywhere he goes is so adorable!
Just keep in mind living by the beach is a lot of upkeep on the exterior of your home because of the sea salt.
Why would you want to move away from both of their families?
I live in Clearwater. Please make sure u get auto home and flood insurance quote before u buy
Something is up????😮😮😮
I can't see u moving away from your family
Ryker is such a well behaved little boy!
I just realized that yesterday, June 12, was Kaia's 1st birthday. Happy Birthday sweet girl.
We just got back from Nashville it was a quick trip our oldest son almost died but our prayers were answered thankfully and we are back home in iowa
Whatever you decide to do I wish you the very best! I personally hope that you stay by your families and vacation in FL as much as you can. The humidity in FL is brutal in the Summer.
It is a big decision. It will change your relationship with your parents, siblings and all the cousins for your kids.
I love the 4 seasons..Florida is a nice place to visit,But that is the extent of it
