I can’t have a phone till I’m either 15 or 16, I’m 12

As someone young enough that cell phones were a thing when I was a young teen but also old enough to be a parent, I think after school activities is a good time for the phone. It’s such a hassle borrowing phones and using the school phone. I got mine when I was 14/freshman in high school. Some of my nanny kids got them a little earlier, but those kids did traveling sports, which also makes sense. Able to text mom when competing out of state with dad.

I’m older now but that’s when got my first phone
