The ingredients for the lip balm are listed below. I like to use rosehip oil, cocoa butter, beeswax and something to flavor the lip balm a bit. I think its possible to use different oils (I’ve used almond oil or jojoba for lip balm before), as well as changing out the solid cocoa butter for shea butter, or something of a similar consistency. However, it may change the amounts a bit, as different ingredients have different melting points. For the amount I made I used: 3/4 cup cocoa butter (when melted) 1/3 cup beeswax (added to melted cocoa butter) 3/4 cup rosehip oil Optional : 1 tsp. flavor agent (like vanilla extract) or flavor oil I hope this helps for anyone who is interested in giving this recipe a go! Back in the 1970s, we did double boilers regularly. I was taught in high school in Home Economics. Or Home Ec. My favorite class. We cooked different recipes. At that time it was 💯 girls attending. Lol. Shop was for boys. They did woodworking and guy stuff. It's so funny now. My friend and I signed up for shop. And we had a great time. We were the first girls at the high school to do that. I was 16 going on 17 at the time. We were small town hippies. I still am a bohemian dressed 70 year old. It's a blessing to have a longer life. To witness the changes in history. I believe there's more life to come!

I don't live in a van, but I totally understand being nervous. I know I need to at least try to connect with what/who is outside my front door. I basically have crippling DEPRESSION/ANXIETY DISORDER.... Throw in a splash of Agoraphobia and I'm a real blast!! It's a horrible way to live.... actually I can't say, "live" it's more like, "exist". The only people I've ever met that understood me are people like me. Anyway, enough about me.... I think Rowan is gonna do AWESOME!! 😊

The lip balm looks amazing! I appreciate the recipe as well. Speaking of recipes, would you consider writing your cook book with ratios/approximate measurements rather than exact measurements? Example: “one part rice”, “two parts water”, “a dash of salt”, etc. You’ve said that’s how you like to cook and why it’s taking so long to write, but I like cooking that way as well. Just a random idea I thought I’d throw out there, so take it with a grain of salt lol P.S. hope you have a good time at van fest! I have a hard time leaving my comfort zone and putting myself out there, so I’m proud of you for doing that 🙌💖
