Had a friend who used fabric glue to stick his gsd ears together. My pup spent two days breaking them free every time his parents werenโt looking. RIP sweet Wally

Back in the day we used to have to take tampons to the puppy's ears to get them to stand up.

My parents used to breed German shepherds, and I myself have raised a couple of shepherd puppies. Im also a VA, not a dr though. They always have floppy ears until a certain age. Usually about 6 to 8 weeks. But sometimes you have late bloomers and their ears don't come up until they are a little older, every so often they don't wanna come up at all. In that situation it's better to try and supplement nutrition before taping their ears. They often times need more calcium so you can give them eggs and even grind up the eggshells and sprinkle it over their food. You can also give them some dairy, preferably lactose free dairy, as it's gentler on their stomach. German shepherd puppies especially also need high protein diets in order to support healthy cartilage development. So you can give them lean meats too like chicken. Or find a high protein kibble for puppies. It's a little more on the expensive side, but I always have to recommend hill science diet. But it's worth the money because it's so high in nutrition and keeps them full longer with smaller amounts due to the high protein content. It's so good you can literally see the health in their fur. But if your puppy reaches 6 months and their ears still have not come up I would recommend taking them for blood work to make sure they don't have a malabsorption problem or another deficiency or illness that could be causing the floppiness. If all is well then taping might be recommended if having their ears up is really that big of a deal to you. If done correctly it can be painless and is only temporary. If tapping doesn't work, well then you may have been bamboozled with a mix breed lol Which is also okay because then they get the best qualities of a German shepherd and whatever else they're mixed with LOL
