Summer Game Fest 2026 and surrounding events brought lots of great game reveals and bits of gaming news, but there were a few disappointing moments as well.

We don't even bring up Elder Scrolls 6 anymore—the perfect example of announcing a game too soon.

Gameranx going above & beyond with not only one video every day, but with sometimes even TWO. Really appreciate the hustle!

I refuse to pay more than $60 dollars for a game. I have enough other things that play until those games that are 60+ go on sale.

All of those games releasing in September is really gonna cannibalize the market. Like there’s a lot of heavy hitters but something is gonna get lost in the shuffle.

If a game isn’t releasing within a month then the Devs should just keep their little ‘release date’ to themselves 😭😂😂

I can't really blame them for playing it safe on announcing any surprises considering Geoff's last "one more thing" was Highguard.

My opinion is that delayed releases are far better than throwing out a bunch of garbage and fixing it later. I’m old though. I’m talking Atari and 1st gen Nintendo old. I’d rather have a finished product out of the gate than an “early release” or “prerelease” that needs constant updates. I’m a business guy though so I get the cash flow argument. I just don’t get upset with delays as I’m hoping that means final product in the end.

Nintendo is also kidding themselves with these game prices. Some of the "$80 quality" games they're releasing are comparable to indie studio games I've bought on Steam for $20-$30 full price. The metrics by which they're measuring value and quality must be entirely based on vibes and nothing else.

The Nintendo direct felt almost like a punishment from all the leaks and rumors of OOT. Like “ it exists, but we’re not going to show you much”.

If you're a PS5 person and you're upset that XBOX is doing exclusives again, then blame Sony. They refuse to put their games on other platforms (they even pulled back on PC releases), and it moves console units for them so XBOX wised up.
