I had never considered the breaker SnP as an option until day 1 of the new spore bugs. The overwhelming speed and number of chaff bugs meant that accuracy and range were pointless. This gun thrives when its targets are less than 25M away, and 9 drum mags made sure there was always a few spare shells for a cracked out warrior or 3.

I agree with Tana and I would have to say the only thing I would have fixed on the Slugger to make it better is to make it pump faster in those clothes call scenarios

Ill add to the spray and pray: If you're using it like a gun, you are wrong. Its a Hose. Its a bullet Hose. You turn it on and keep spraying until the greens are gone. It is the perfect gun for when the carpet is made of bugs or you need to suppress squid votes in their back alleys. On squids, run it like you think you should. Full choke, drum mag. Its the only shotgun that lets you advance down an alley full of voteless while firing. In close it doesnt care about ablative armor, because the volume of fire strips it in moments leaving the squid's entire chest and face exposed to the vote suppressing lead cannon. Its the only primary that encourages you to go to tight places against the squids, because it forces them to get closer to you. But on Bugs, run the duckbill. The full choke is *worse* for hitting hiveguard weakpoints because you should be aiming at it's mouth. That spreads the pellets on both legs and shreds them, often killing them before it cripples them. But most importantly, and counter intuitively, run the SMALL mag! The longer reload of the drum mag gives a lucky hunter just enough of a window that it can jump you in the window. Run the small mag, close the window. You reload more often, but it is so short that NOTHING can close the gap before you've got the hose spraying again. With the small mag, the stream of tiny lead droplets is functionally unending, and the closest thing in HD2 to a backpack-belt-fed shotgun.

The slugger is my favorite weapon and the very first one I got to level 25. I also think that it needs some love and I love to bring it on bot planets with more cover such as trees or city missions.
