At its core, the design of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the remake or "reimagining" of the 1996 original, attempts to blend the classic feel of Lara Croft’s movement with a more modern approach to combat and exploration. You know what Tomb Raider is. Chances are you’ve played on one of Lara Croft’s many adventures, or at least one of the cinematic action-adventures that her original 1996 expedition inspired, whether that be the Uncharted, Horizon, or Star Wars Jedi series. But now it’s time to go all the way back, as Legacy of Atlantis takes us full circle in a reimagining of the story that kick-started a genre. #IGN #TombRaiderLegacyOfAtlantis #Preview

GAME LOOKS GORGEOUS
Man if only my uncle was still alive to see this and play it. We spent hours playing 1 & 2 on PS. 😢
It's like a mix of Classic(levels and outfit), Legend(grapple & climbing) & Survivor(axe) lara, it's strange but looks awesome
Hope this demo gets released to the public? Miss the days games got demos, definitely something that needs brining back.
From Indiana Jones to Lara Croft to Nathan Drake Trilogy of Archeologists
Infinite ammo is such a treat. The thing that annoys the crap out of me at the moment with modern games is they seem to want you to only have 5 bullets and always be hunting for more ammo, I guess for "realism" but I want to explore a ruin, not hunt for another magazine every 30 seconds.
The backflip slow motion is insane 🔥
Reviewer seems to ignore that Tomb Raider Aniversary exists.
Right of the bat I hate the framing about the PS1 controls and how this game 'fixed' them but still not enough to this dude's taste. The original game was not about fast paced action and shooting, it was about exploration, careful platforming, the sense of isolation and finding secrets in vast tombs. The way you control Lara in the original game was not a mistake, it was a defining feature, it was supposed to be a slow paced game where you think about the environment and plan how you're gonna traverse it - and if this sequel brings back even a little bit of that feeling I'm all in!
Surprising lack of comparison to Tomb Raider Anniversary, which this clearly takes a lot of ideas from. Which is a great thing, Anniversary is my favorite Tomb Raider game.
Everyone pretending Tomb Raider Anniversary never happened xD
"Brand new grapple gadget" Tomb Raider Legend anyone? Has this guy ever played a video game before the year 2020?
I am legit looking forward to this
We're so back! Lara Croft is back! For real this time.
All the media sites reference the OG Tomb Raider as an influence for this game but hardly mention Tomb Raider Anniversary. I see so many callbacks to, and mechanics from, that game here - not least the grapple hook and shimmy hops.
Dinosaurs are cool, but I want to see my Lovecraftian horrors that transcend human comprehension executed well. (All I’m saying is: mutated Centaurus warrior.)
Can't wait.
Can't wait to explore😊
I don't know about this. In the original it felt like every jump was dangerous. Tomb Raider isn't like Uncharted, the gameplay should be more complex, with precision platforming and no hand holding while exploring.
1:16 Does NO ONE know what Tomb Raider Anniversary is!? This has been done before where they fixed the controls and it had the "modern" grapple to solve puzzles so long ago...BEFORE even the first Uncharted released... This just looks like an engine upgrade of Anniversary
