being a kushaq owner, even considering the bad launch of dsg, tata nailed this time beating kushaq even after weighing 200kgs more, tc gave it better launch but kushaq can't catch after being much lighter 200 kgs is no joke, sierra also beaten seltos now its fastest in the segment in drag race timing, tata already had features design safety and vfm, all it was lacking was performance and quality issues, they fixed performance this time, only if they now fix quality issues and glitches, they are very sorted for the price, mahindra already have everything they are also lacking in glitches and service experience, if they both improve our desi brands are very much competitive for their offerings for their price, they haven't beaten german or korean brands in quality or technology but they are trying hard and giving tough compettion, so we should appreciate them.

Sierra has a masterpiece of an engine made by Tatamotors. This engine is even more of a monster in Harrier petrol. This is why Jeep is begging for this engine as well as chassis now.

Instead of automatic transmission, you could use manual ones. That way it eliminates the launch issues with DCT or DSG fitted transmissions. Manual gearboxes will give a good meaning to drag races.
My got Sierra beating Kushaq.....beats logic with all that boxy design...still managed to leave Skoda behind.
The results are pretty inline with the 0-100 figures of both vehicles. Kushaq takes a lethargic 1.73 secs for 0-20 while Sierra does it in only 1.19 secs thanks to the TC that allows aggressive launch unlike the DSG. However Kushaq was still faster to 100kmph and even in Rolling acceleration tests, the DSG showed it's capability where the Kushaq was half a second faster in 20-80 and an entire second faster in 40-100. I think adding Rolling Races in future races would definitely make the series more interesting as it allows a fair Chance to the DCT gearbox vehicles and even to the Tata cars whose Traction control can't be turned off. Even so, with a 200+ kg weight difference, the Kushaq still had a healthy advantage but it still lost. The new 1.5 Hyperion by Tata Impresses you everyday.

Offlate TATA and Mahindra makes great cars. Improved reliability and service experience will make “peace of mind over value “ buyers incline towards them.
Comments are like : if kushaq had TC then it would have won, if kushaq had better tuned dct then it will win..if race was for 10kms kushaq will win. But why guys ? Why ? Accept it. What autocar used is what you get as product on road. If you can change details of a car, You can just add any engine combination to win a race. This is like " oh i failed in exam because I had fever " !! It's a drag race. Reasons for kushaq failure doesn't matter. It failed. And Sierra won. Period. Tata may have lot of issues. But accept that it built an engine of this stature. It even smoked seltos. So this is not an accident . It's engineering. Appreciate what needs to be appreciated.

When credit is due, we should give Tata Motors a thumbs up. They’ve finally developed a very good engine. 👌👌 Tata Motors should offer this engine starting from the Pure variants of the Tata Sierra.
