A laid down PC is traditional machine, especially one with a monitor on top. Of course, you might not want to do it to a fishtank PC. SPECIALLY if you want to put a CRT monitor on top of it.

Jokes on you my PC Case has three big ass fans under the GPU. So I'm using a brace but it's fighting for its life. 💀

Lol I was dumb when I moved into this apartment like 7 years ago and didn't remove my 1070Ti prior to moving the PC. Some jostling during the move caused the PCIe slot to partially detach from the mobo, and it wouldn't start. I found that putting the tower on its side allowed the weight of the GPU to push the slot into its correct place and allowed me to continue gaming for another couple years on that rig.
