You should check out Dawson City, Yukon since you will be so close. We drove there from Vancouver in 1979. Always wanted to do the Dempster. Clara Hughes, a Canadian Olympic athlete cycled it on her honeymoon. Nancy
Good luck with your future endeavors & growing family!
The white to brownish sandstone in the area of the Rock Springs uplift is the Ericson Sandstone.
A spare gas can was the only thing stopping me from driving to Tuktoyaktuk, my MPG was just too close for comfort between fuel stops. Best of luck on your trip and with the new baby!!
I hope that you keep the family life private, as much as you are able.
I’m not at all surprised that you blew past your goal. Your selection of interesting destinations, thoughtful and engaging narration, professional level editing, and down-to-earth genuine personality have earned you a well deserved loyal following.
You’re welcome. 😊
20 years ago. my wife was pregnant and we were so happy and this old guy approached us in a restaurant and said "your lives will change forever from here forward" as he grabbed my wifes hands. He was so right... this changes everything! Thank you for bringing us along this fabulous journey
We drove on the Dempster highway..... absolutely breathtaking!🤯 Absolutely bumpy🤣
We like our personal time. We hike alone with a radio now. You will have some great fun with children. We took our baby into the Fiery Furnace.
That's because you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
Enjoy the trip, looking forward to the videos!
Tristan Congrats to you and Casey, Not surprised on the support, you have helped many over the years. Me included I've used your GPS coordinates to certain cool spots for me to camp and photograph my last 3 trips out west. Top tip for that Demsey highway if you had'nt already invest in some AT tires or AT E rated tires just for the trip. As you need tires you can air down(comfort and sidewall structure). I forget whats already on the Honda . Cheers guys
So looking forward to more of your videos, especially your Arctic vids. Thanks and Congrats!
Drove the Dempster last year coming from CO, you don't need 4wd at all, we never used it, what I would recommend is LT truck tires for SUVs/ Crossovers, you are less likely to get flats, we did see many vehicles with flat tires, and they were almost all sedans or other cross-overs with all season tires. We have Mickey Thompson Baja Boss LT tires and never had any issues, no flats. The shingle (the type of rock exposed in the roadbed) in the middle section of the road in particular will pop those tires if hit right. Its 883 something km each way to Tuk, and except for a few miles in Inuvik, all unpaved, and some sections basically un-graveled. The worst part of the road is from Eagle Plains to the NWT border. The best sections of the entire road in 2025 were all in NWT. We also drove the Top of the World Hwy in to Alaska, its gravel / paved but I think any sedan could do that with any tire.
Congrats on the growing family and the upcoming trip
Congrats! I enjoy your videos so much!
For 6 years we’ve loved your videos and location guides. Since retiring and traveling full-time, we’ve watched them from some incredible places of our own—utopia inside utopia. Congrats to you and your wife on the baby! — Rice-n-Roux
You provide such entertainment & knowledge that the contributions are truly deserving! Congratulations again on the baby!
Thank you!
