"I want the Weird Nintendo Back" MFs when Koizumi spends 2 minutes cranking one out live.
The dividing line here really seems to be that if you like JRPGs, you liked this direct, and if you don’t, you found it disappointing at best, which ngl yeah thats fair
there's that one tweet that goes like "videogame presentations are so much more fun when you're a fan of games instead of a game"
Implying that any of us EVER understand Nintendo is cute.
This felt like a Nintendo direct that would happen at the end of a systems lifetime, not the second year of a new system.
Arlo this is the 14th time you "didn't understand Nintendo anymore"
The hell do you mean “anymore”?! We get a “I don’t understand Nintendo” vibe after every other direct, at this point.
the thumb war thing is nintendo history, this is your chance to appreciate this moment
Arlo went through all 5 stages of grief on the stream and made it to acceptance
Wouldn’t have been as bad if we didn’t have to wait for NINE MONTHS
Its crazy how mario kart world still has no updates
The fact that we know WAY more about thumb wars than we do about the OoT remake makes me feel physically sick 😂
"feels like Nintendo is catching up" feels accurate. I think it just feels weird to be this far into a console gen and not have a new entry from most of the flagship series you would expect would lead a console generation. I'm still happy to finally be able to play a lot of these bigger games I missed out on only having a Switch 1, I just want to see what stuff like Smash, Mario and Zelda could look like now that Nintendo finally has more powerful hardware, so to not even have a teaser for any of those just feels a little weird.
Unbelievable that the Donkey Kong dlc content was the only appearance of Mario in entire direct
Before the direct, the question we were all asking was “I wonder what the ocarina of time remake will be like?” After the direct, the question we’re all asking is “I wonder what the ocarina of time remake will be like?” GRANTED that’s mostly because of the leaks but even so, feelings aren’t always rational, and I feel bummed about knowing basically nothing.
During the extended thumb wrestling sequence, I said out loud to myself "why is Nintendo like this"
I'm a big JRPG guy, so I absolutely loved this direct, and then I looked on social media and everyone was so mad 😭
It's utterly bizarre how we only got a teaser trailer for Ocarina of Time. A game that's supposed to be out in less than 6 months.
I’m throwing my hat in regards to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. I think that given that both it and Tomodachi Life were being developed at the same time, the Sports devs didn’t expect Living the Dream to become massively popular.
It’s so funny because for some people this was a 10/10 awesome direct and for others they hated it 😭.
