In my opinion he should never have returned to the field after the first heart attack in 2021. but i know it is difficult to stop doing something that you love so much. He is one of the best danish players and has been a huge asset for our national team. SO THANK YOU CHRISTIAN FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE NATIONAL TEAM! For anyone wondering! He is back home with his family and he is well know, considering the circumstances! So know he will focus on relaxing with his family, getting even better, going on vacation and play some football with his kids. This was an update he made on instagram ! What he does now, is only up to him and his family! But now might be the time to put the boots on the shelf and retire! He is 34 years old, he never returned to his former peak form from before the 2021 incident. He has been relegated to 2.Bundsliga with Wolfsburg. So now, i think is the best time to retire for him. So he does not taint his legacy and most importantly to avoid getting a 3rd heart attack. That is my opinion. But as said, he can only decide for himself, and we have to respect that decision!
