I just realised Isaacs first word being 'friend' was showing how alien everything was to the alien. Friend was what ET said in the film, it wasnt the alien that had to say the line, it was the humans who needed to understand him!
had me in tears by the end :') that scene in the cave with the alien preparing to wait for his death, and then when he left the house too. "i'd find some gutter to die in, in that strange alien world outside" idk, just something about the emotion of it. like how what we as humans perceive as "alien" must be completely backwards to another species. that feeling of rejection and not quite belonging is so raw in this game and i just feel like as humans we're so quick to make judgements based on our own beliefs that we fail to recognise how different the world around us is and that we're the odd one out to somebody.
A wonderful game. This developer definitely knows how to do storytelling in a way that holds your attention and makes you not want to miss a single word. I loved Before Your Eyes so much for how emotional it was, and this one didn't disappoint. Thanks for taking us on this ride with you, Jay!

the voice acting is genuinely really well done. when the alien was lying in the cave waiting to die it sounded like he was exhausted and later on the verge of tears
this was actually so beautiful im kinda glad you didn’t kill elliot or wtv bc i would’ve killed him so fast but the personality you went with matched the decision

I can't help but think the ending kinda showed another little thing- the fact that the grandfather our little alien was friends with actually DID still try to keep up with his daughter, even though he kept his distance. And that the grandfather cared deeply for his daughter, even though he struggled to show it- just look at how he just tucked money away into books hoping that they'd find it someday. Makes me wonder if he hoped Rebecca would look into those books herself sometime, maybe to try to remember him despite the hurt, and just find that out and realized he cared even if she can't read his writing.
