The Witness left the universe's structure completely broken, and it is the perfect setup for a high stakes vanilla D3 launch. ​The cosmic ledger is totally lopsided. ​The Structural Vacuum is this, Light has 3 elements (Arc, Solar, Void), but Dark only has 2 (Stasis, Strand). There is a literal void where a third Darkness subclass should anchor reality. ​The Stasis Paradox: Elsie’s time loop relied on Stasis being an infectious moral rot. But The Final Shape proved Dark is just memory and consciousness. If Dark isn’t inherently evil, the whole mechanical trigger for her timeline resets completely collapses. ​Imagine a D3 opening where Maya Sundaresh uses her Echo to flood the system's dormant SIVA vaults with raw Resonance (the missing third Dark element). It mutates into Blighted Radiolaria, combining Vex timeline simulation with SIVA mechanical necromancy. ​Instead of a standard invasion fleet, the Last City is physically and historically overwritten from within. Maya pulls failed, dead futures straight out of the fluid memory and solidifies them using nanite flesh, raising a framework army of puppeted, red mesh Iron Lords and rogue Guardians. ​The Vanguard completely loses the City and is scattered into a fugitive guerrilla fleet. To fight back, we get a massive rogue coalition. Zavala, Ikora, and Crow waging asymmetric warfare; Osiris hacking Vex syntax; Drifter draining the banks; Elsie fighting the literal ghosts of her failed timelines; and Shiro-4 finally returning as the SIVA containment expert allied alongside Caiatl, Mithrax, and Savathûn. Yes Savy. ​The ultimate ontological reset is this, The entire 10-year saga of D1 and D2 was just an alternate simulation layer inside a single drop of Vex milk where Elsie failed and the Traveler finally abandoned the timeline. ​D3 vanilla starts with your Guardian waking up in the Cosmodrome in a completely fresh reality. You are still an undead Guardian light bearer, but you realize the universe we spent a decade saving was just a leaking, discarded draft.
