Our sons’ FIRST DAY in a Philippine Public School did NOT go as expected… We woke up early, got ready for school, and walked together with our friends Hanna and Rahani. Misha started 5th grade, and Kostya started 3rd grade. Everything seemed normal, and classes had just begun. Then suddenly, the ground started shaking. At first, I thought I was simply feeling dizzy because I hadn’t eaten breakfast before taking the kids to school. I became scared, sat down, and thought I might faint. But then I noticed students and teachers rushing out of the classrooms. That’s when I realized it wasn’t just me. An earthquake had struck. The earthquake’s epicenter was about 180 kilometers away from us, but the shaking was strong enough to frighten everyone. Students, teachers, and parents were evacuated, and school was canceled on the very first day. In this vlog, you’ll experience the entire day with us — from the excitement of the first day of school in the Philippines to the unexpected earthquake that changed everything within minutes. What would you do if an earthquake happened during your child’s first day of school?
