The conditions in this for-profit prison will shock you

Activism

The New Jersey private detention facility Delaney Hall is run by for-profit company GEO Group. GEO relies on the public's tax dollars going to fill their cells, then keeps the profits they make for themselves. GEO Group made $254 million in profits last year, a 700% increase from the year before. Delaney Hall alone is expected to generate $60 million in revenue each year. Now, massive protests are taking place outside Delaney amid an ongoing labor and hunger strike by detainees to protest inhumane living conditions and demand their release.
