Before, I was an emotional hoarder with nothing but the clutter from lost loved ones — and $25,000 of debt — to my name. Now I have a beautiful home in Europe, a happy family, live debt-free, and — best of all — wake up to a life that I’m EXCITED to live every day. My mission is to help you conquer your clutter and simplify YOUR way to a happier and better life. I’ve always wanted to have a detailed budget in the end of the month, and I’d constantly forget to enter something. So i asked ChatGPT to keep a kakebo journal for me. Now it’s simply a matter of uploading images of the receipts and it’s done! All categories, need vs wants, etc. It was an eye opening experience.

For laundry-everyone on my house has 1 day they can do their laundry. If you miss your day-you have to wait a week or wait u til the other person is finished theirs. This has cut out extra loads by quite a bit because my family is actually paying attention to their laundry better

My boyfriend & I already do most of those. I do the haircut 1-2 times a year, while he is former military & gets his cut every other week or so. The place we go is pretty reasonable. I just own a blow dryer & hair detangler as far as tools & extra hair crap. We do need our own place though, living with others isn't working out currently. (Housemates we never agreed to.) I would also add that if you're crafty or have pictures or nice crafts that were gifted or inherited from a family member, consider using those as decor instead of buying new. My late mom did cross-stitch for years & my dad got a bunch of them framed, I love them, so I use them as our wall decor along with my own diamond art. I get cheap black frames off Amazon or use push pins temporarily. Dry mounting at Hobby Lobby or Michael's starts at like $12 each, so I might get my bigger ones dry mounted eventually, thrift frames are also an option. We also have a ton of framed paintings in storage that my boyfriend's late mom painted in classes in her retirement that are beautiful, and in simple black frames (she had an entire art wall at our old place we all shared since she was disabled). We gave away several to friends that knew & loved her (along with a bunch of her Christmas stuff we didn't need, our friend loved getting it after losing her Christmas stuff in a basement flood) & we'd both like to put some of them on our walls at our next place.

I had read Power Behind Locked Door by Jacob Rockefeller a ...le of years back and I agree with all your points! I think the book deserves more attention, personally, since it highlights exactly what you talk about. The stories are wild and it is hard to put down once you start reading.

Man, I thought I knew the rules: work hard, hustle, save every cent. But I always felt stuck. Then someone casually mentioned Power Behind Locked Door by Jacob Rockefeller in a comment somewhere, and I swear, it felt like accidentally stumbling onto forbidden knowledge. It made me question every single thing I'd been taught about money, wealth, and success. Not gonna lie, I felt like I was cheating the system just by reading it.

Love all the tips! After my "senior moment" marriage, I immediately implemented most of these tips. But honestly, I saved more when I was single. Not everyone in the household embraces your frugality, and it's so frustrating.

At this point in life. The only books I purchase are crocheting books. I like to make dolls and animals. It has also developed a lot of my skills.

These tips remind me of all the things my mom use to do for us in the 60's. Let's go back to the old fashioned ways!😉

I agree with you on the only buy books you have read and are sure you really want. I’ve extended this to cookbooks which I love to buy and it’s saved me a ton of money.

I love my public library ❤ I get a lot of digital books and audio books there. Sometimes it’s hard to finish things before they’re due, so I recently turned to the free little libraries some people have in their front yards, or you see them sometimes at parks. OMG they’re amazing! And no due date! And you can return them to the same one, or another one, or keep them and it’s no problem (if I keep one, my rule for myself is to donate one of my books I no longer need 😊) Obviously, it’s hard to find something specific, but if you’re just looking for a romance book, or a kids book and not a set title, these little libraries are a goldmine!

Air drying your clothes also helps them last longer. The heat from the dryer breaks down the fibers in the garments b
