To be fair to the steam controller, I think this makes it more accessible for more people. Most people that play games do not trust 3rd party devices for their console/pc. I think it’s around ~70% of players an console and around that same for pc that only use 1st party devices rather than third party. So this allows people to get better controllers for much better prices if they refuse third party controllers. Afterall, the competition of the other 1st party make a similar quality controller for double or even triple the price.
IM noticing a severe lack of talk about the fact that the people who worked on this controller made the HAPTIC MOTORS play the iconic wilhelm scream when you drop the controller, and that you can customize the noise it makes yourself through some cool guys on github.
You can get half of a PS Dualsense Edge controller for that price!
Valve: It screams when you drop it Me: Sold
"Insert rich smiling Gaben gif"
$100? My Dual Sense Edge was $200, so I'm ok with this
I just got mine today, all i can say is, holy shit linus has tiny hands
100$ is a lot of money i cant even buy two LTT screwdrivers with that price.
I'm so happy the top comments are dunking on linus own prices lmao
Gabe does nothing: Wins Gade does something : Wins even more
I have like three dualsense controllers with dead joysticks not even a year old I don't need their fancy triggers I just want a controller that doesn't walk me off a cliff when I sit it down and this is true of both Xbox and PlayStation controllers
Bro flew the jet to go pick it up
Linus: 99 controller with many features - too expensive! 40 screw driver - best deal ever!
Gabe wont sue, he listens to good guys
I love the Portal Companion Cube for the Steam Machine.
This is that guy who buys private jets like the rest of us right?
But how does it play on your private jet?
The $100 price tag seems fair. It's a controller with all the input features, plus additional once like the touch pads and 4 buttons on the back. Tons of cheap controllers are missing gyro sensors as well.
The controller looks like a flying squirrel
Nice disclaimer because you flexed your jet while paying employees crumbs
