Step 1: cover your pc in oil Step 2: wait for it to rain

"Hi I'm calling regarding your PC's extended warranty, did you know we now cover oil-cooled problems? " 😒

So a PC that works likes an insect that has open loop circulatory system.

Remember when LTT used to do cool things like this instead of pitching eSIMs and not paying the core staff their value.

"probably ok" is the best kind 😂

Deionized water is non conductive and can act as an insulator but the moment you expose it to the open air it’s conductive properties go up as it starts absorbing co2. You might be able to use deionized water if you got it in a sealed closed system.

I was worried we weren't going to get a segue to our sponsor, saily

First LTT vid I ever watched was Linus mucking about with an oil submerged PC build.

... what he doesn't tell you is that when you heat mineral oil it vaporizes. leave that rig in a small sealed bedroom for awhile and watch what one lone spark does.

I'm not kidding I was nerding out on the light djs and if you could find it in your heart to showcase some cool niche shit like that I'd be so stoked.❤❤

I think I speak on behalf of most of the Wan audience. When I say when is Luke building another oil PC?

We use deionized water or a special coolant with zero conductivity in the manufacturing industry for cooling components. It's not the water that will damage, it's the metals and other conductive elements in the water that will destroy things. You can't short out if the electricity can't transfer through the liquid. Also the same method is used in ASICs for cooling. Oil can also short out and destroy the PC if conductive elements are introduced into the oil as well.
