I am greatly impressed by how skilled and competent your children are. The fact that you and your husband have placed your trust in the capability of these children will only serve as an advantage as they grow older making them mature, responsible adults. Congratulations.
Clever way to stake up tomatoes! Never thought I would say this but you make me miss gardening, but at 88 yrs old I just watch you instead of doing it myself! Thanks! I look forward to your blogs…
Good job Kendrick for using your problem-solving skills to determine a better way to fix problem with correct side of fence.
How nice to have such a competent and helpful crew working with you.
Enjoyed watching the boys learn by helping. I have used two panels for years work great. I am 81 years young and do it all by myself.
"You can never have too many cattle panels."😁❤
Good morning from Kentucky! I always look forward to Saturday morning with you and your beautiful family. Your videos are always full of wisdom and love.
Good Morning! Thank you, Zimmermans, for the education in every video. ❤
Ruthann when you praise, praise, praise, your children this is the key to success .My parents always always praised us no mater how big or small ,it made you feel so good about your self ,you wanted to do it all over again, raised on a dairy farm.Love from Ont. Canada.🇨🇦🍁
RuthAnn, you are such a jewel in the garden of life-- the number of positive comments on your channel is amazing. I'm fairly new to YouTube and have been searching for videos done by "authentic" people-- you and Elvin certainly caught my eye. The number of things that kept me coming back began to add up, lol. When you said, "Iowa" -- our family's favorite location-- I was reminded of all the trips we took on the eastern side of the state in the ten years we lived there. We actively sought out Amish stores (and even an Amish cheese factory), something we've done in the northern states we've lived in. My widowed paternal grandmother married a man who was Old Order German Baptist (Dayton, OH area), so I'm familiar to a degree with much of what you've spoken of in interviews. I have the fondest memories of her water pump just inside her screen door and the tin cup we drank from--and the time she took us for a ride in the buggy, although she did keep Hazel to a very slow "clip-clop"! Your bubbly personality reminds me so much of my mother, who woke each morning looking for joy in the day and loved her Lord, heart and soul. Widowed three times, she still kept focused on her True North. In summer, she canned anything that moved, with us four sisters snapping bushels of beans and shelling peas. We picked dark, sweet cherries as a family (my favorite) and canned them quickly but the kitchen looked like it had chicken pox by the time we were done, haha! My husband and I enjoy Elvin's many talents and the way he patiently teaches the children. You both show what's most important in raising responsible children and make no apologies for a parenting style that is so refreshingly different from today's society. I caught a quote recently that I'll share as it applies to what attracts people to your channel: "People aren't longing to be impressed; they're longing to feel like they're home". You do "home" so well, RuthAnn. (P.S. --we have the twin to the gray sectional sofa in your living room--too funny.)
The "little boys" are not so little anymore! :) Great video - thank you!
I’m almost 76 and miss gardening so much. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate watching you teach your sons and they are doing a great job!!!
Definitely farm boys! Strong young men with good problem solving skills! Great parenting and teaching too! Blessings Zimmerman's! 🙏🙏🙏💚🌿
That was a lot hope you rest the next day you’ve got some awesome hard working sons ❤❤🤗
Good Saturday morning. ☕😊 Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend!
I have never made a tomato alley but I do use the cattle panels for trellis. Because my tomatoes also grow tall, I elevate the panel. I'm in my late 70's and have to erect the trellis alone, so I put a 5 gallon bucket under each end of the cattle panel while zip tying it securely. This allows my tomatoes to grow about 7' tall on trellis before they run out of support.
Love seeing the boys help you with the garden!❤❤❤❤❤
Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend!
You all make life look so easy. I love the tomato fencing idea. Thank you for your ideas & suggestions. God bless!
You two have done such a wonderful job with your kids but I really think Kendrick is going to be the one to continue with this lifestyle. He is such a sponge about everything you guys teach them and he really seems to be the one that enjoys it the most.
