When I was a kid{mid1960s or so} Mammoth cave Kentucky had a naturally mummified native who had been crushed by a boulder when mining gypsum.He was a small man,still wearing woven sandals and clothing.Still had his tools and a river cane torch.This awestruck boy learned more about America before Columbus than I could have from any book or field trip.

I found some lasagna in the back of my fridge that was pretty old.
How did they know it was 12000 years old? Carbon dating is not accurate enough to determine within thousands of years, it was probably like 10 years old

Apparently remains of a thylacine found in a cave in Western Australia in the 1960s and still had hair and maggots in it. The remains later dated as several thousands of years old. With a thylacine estimated to have gone extinct on the mainland 3000 years ago
