Racism is pervasive in today's world, and many are complicit in the failure to confront its evils. Jemar Tisby, author of the award-winning The Color of Compromise, believes we need to move beyond mere discussions about racism and begin equipping people with the practical tools to fight against it. How to Fight Racism is a handbook for pursuing racial justice with hands-on suggestions bolstered by real-world examples of change. Tisby offers an array of actionable items to confront racism in our relationships and in everyday life through a simple framework--the A.R.C. Of Racial Justice--that helps readers consistently interrogate their own actions and maintain a consistent posture of anti-racist action. This book is for anyone who believes it is time to stop compromising with racism and courageously confront it. Tisby roots the ultimate solution to racism in the Christian faith as we embrace the implications of what Jesus taught his followers. Beginning in the church, he provides an opportunity to be part of the solution and suggests that the application of these principles can offer us hope that will transform our nation and the world. Tisby encourages us to reject passivity and become active participants in the struggle for human dignity across racial and ethnic lines. Readers of the book will come away with a clear model for how to think about race in productive ways and a compelling call to dismantle a social hierarchy long stratified by skin color. CONTENTS 1. The newspaper isn't the bible.
Really disappointed in Zondervan with this video. This is not a very christian view on sin and a lot of the racial points made are very hotly debated as to wether they actually were racist or wrong.
disappointed in Zondervan
As long as sin is on this earth, and until Jesus destroy this earth, racism is going no where. Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life. Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
Excellent points.
I’m reading the book, and it’s excellent!
My Asian friend was harassed yesterday and even though I’m white and I’m ignorant to what it’s like to be judged by the colour of my skin I still want to help. #blacklivesmatter

The Gospel of Grievances vs. The Gospel of Grace...News Update: GRACE won out!
I’m amazed how Jesus manifest himself so differently and gracefully in human beings when they invite Him to be their Lord and all He can be. I’m encouraged Jemar, to do the same.
Institutional racism: Constitution of Liberia Article 27 b. "In order to preserve, foster and maintain the positive Liberian culture, values and character, only persons who are Negroes or of Negro descent shall qualify by birth or by naturalization to be citizens of Liberia."
"How to fight racism by being a racist" Fixed that for y'all.
White supremacy is very real. I was recently stopped on December 26 2021 in Americus Ga. I admit that I was traveling about 9 miles over the posted speed limit. The State Trooper did a very aggressive Maneuver to U-turn to chase me down along with 3 other vehicles trailing behind me. He allowed everyone to slowly leave except me. The trooper approached my vehicle and we both greeted each other. I asked why I was being stopped? He replied you was going 11 miles over the speed limit. I said I was going 9 over the speed limit. That’s when everything took a turn. He stated I was going to give you a warning but you opened your mouth. He take my license and returned to his cruiser. and moments later arrived back to my vehicle stopping at the rear door saying Mr.Green could you step out the vehicle. I responded why if I’m only getting a ticket. He repeated himself more aggressively Mr. Green I’m asking you to step out of the vehicle. I was alone so no one else could do it for me. I stepped out of my vehicle asking why are you making me get out my vehicle on a busy highway. He replied for my safety. On the passenger side of my vehicle it was enough room for ten people to stand. I pointed that out but he didn’t respond. He said I’m trying to help you out here. I replied I’m not seeking help from him. He said we’ll go back to your vehicle and I’ll write you a few tickets. I said fine. We both returned to our vehicles. Shortly after another state trooper arrived on the scene. They had a few words and the same state trooper reproached my vehicle asking me to step out of the vehicle. I asked could I grab my cellphone and he replied sure. I was so nervous that I started recording and stopped recording simultaneously. I was alone so no one else could do it for me. One state trooper stood on the side of the cruiser by the driver tire while the other officer and I stood about 3-4 feet away from each other behind my vehicle. He said Mr.Green I need you to come stand right here (pointing right by his side) so I can serve you your situation. I said sir I’m close enough to you if I can extend my hand to take the situation from your hands. With the same aggressive tone as I described earlier he said Mr. Green I’m asking you to come stand right here (pointing right next to his side as stated before). I refused once again saying I have coronavirus. The state trooper replied where is your mask and I responded where are you guys masks. That ended the confrontation and I extended my arm took the situation signed it and returned it in the same manner. It was over and I returned to my car. My heart was raising because I feel the state trooper was trying to stage and plot to harm me if I took those few steps towards him when he attempted to try and get me to come close to him. I called and filed an complaint but the state trooper supervisor said he wasn’t wrong. Out of frustration I said well let him dare come near me again and hung Up the phone. I’ve been researching trying to find information matching what I’ve experienced to raise the issue before an innocent person is hurt. I think cops should defuse any situation instead of Escalade a situation. I’m a 39 year old African American and the two troopers were two middle age European Americans. Was I wrong for not remaining silent or was this taken to far over a simple speeding ticket?
At what point in the video is he going to mention what the Bible teaches on racism??
Anyone can be a victim of racism. Dr. Tisby tends to focus on the African American experience with racism within the church and America as a whole. As christians we need to understand that racism isn't only against black people all races experience it. I agree with Dr. Tisby on many things but I take issue with some of his positions on many contemporary and political issues.
The fact that God just allows this to happen for thousands of years without helping the oppressed says God is not real or he's evil like Satan.
Respectfully to Zondervan, if you really want to fight racism, how about listening to black voices on things besides...racism? We also understand (among other things), eschatology, the gospels, world missions, pastoral care, biblical languages, and church history. Why is it that nearly every black voice on this channel speaks on racism, race, etc? Guys...we know other things. Stop putting black people in the "race" box. This is so frustrating.
Church gone woke. Shame on you.
Long and boring. When does it get to anything useful?
