On May 19, 2017, the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy's (IRRPP) State of Racial Justice in Chicago hosted a Leadership Summit at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The leadership summit is connected to a new report that IRRPP is launching that week: "A Tale of Three Cities: The State of Racial Justice in Chicago." The report offers a picture of the conditions of racial and ethnic groups in Chicago across multiple domains (education, housing & neighborhoods, health, economics, and justice). Attendees at The Leadership Summit on May 19th discussed the findings of the report and generate discussion about how we can address the widespread racial inequities in the region. The summit was a convening of policy groups, scholars, public officials, community leaders, journalists, and others from Chicago. The event was also be a partner event for the Chicago Community Trust's "On the Table" initiative as it is part of their agenda this year to host conversations about racial equity in the region.
