"Saros begins on the planets of Carcosa" *HUGE RED FLAG!*
Naming it carcosa was a blatant clue it would be bad on the planet. The yellow king rules from carcosa
Sweet. A story explained for a game I'll never play. I'm here for it.
"It feeds on desire" Me as a Buddhist: Oh no. I see where this is going.
I actually assumed the blue precipice is the beach at the end of the true ending, which is only accessible by accepting his truths and obsessions, hence why the beach doesn't have the eclipse at the end. At least what I thought
Echelon II being turned into the statues around the world lines up with the short stories, where a particular character develops an alchemical solution that turns living things to marble.
Nice to see Saros is staying true to the roots of Returnal and having a story I never paid attention to that’s actually a huge mind fuck that’s possibly not even real.
Arjun at the start: Me Me Me Arjun at the end: Wow i really am an asshole
Holy refresh pull
Arjuns powers are pretty easy to explain - he is the protagonist of the Bollywood movie!!! 🐰👍
Carcosa that was not on my bingo card for the game
yeap, this is a game by the returnal devs, cosmic horrors and confronting your past
My personal theory: • Lucenite does not exist. Its another one of The Yellow's manifestations of Desire to lure the humans to Carcosa. Lucenite being this "all powerful" energy source that would solve all of Earth's problems sounds too good to be true... because it is. Its just another trick made reality by the power of the Halcyon. Edit: Furthermore. Its entirely possible this is just 1 reality where Lucenite IS real. We know the Yellow orbs/strands represent alternate realities. So maybe the Yellow doesnt care about whether its real or not, just that its BELIEVED in. Similar to the Greater Will in Elden Ring, it doesnt care whose Age or Order exists- so long as something is there. Whether its Marikas or Rannis or the Dung Eaters, it doesnt matter. The same could be said for everything happening on Carcosa. All of it is real and all of it is a lie, so long as there are beings with "desires" to exploit

A game about the yellow king is hype I’m definitely buying now
I just rewatched your analysis of Returnal yesterday and was wondering how much it'll take you to do the same analysis for Saros, I thought you'd be quick since you've already loved Returnal but I didn't expect it to be this quick. Keep up the good work.
A new Gingy video in time for dinner? Bless the Omnisiah!
Beware the King in yellow 😮
While I think the execution of the story can be a little of sometimes (dialogue can be funky), I was actually very engaged by it. I really enjoy characters with murky moralities, and untangling the knot of Arjun and Nitya's relationship was a fun experience.
I really hope it wasn't a case of "all in his head", because if so, then the whole game winds up just being a guy who's kind of a jerk thinking to himself that maybe he shouldn't be a jerk (with the twist being that it's too little, too late) and that's... Definitely not as cool as Lovecraft In Space.
