We had an old beagle show up in the forest preseve across the road. Old guy finally took water from our porch and collapsed. No one ever claimed him, so he's been living out whatever time he has left snoozing in our house. We're certain he was dumped in the forest preserve.

This reminds me of one of those stories where the owner is having some kind of medical emergency and their dog goes out in search of help. It’s as if the dog is saying come and follow me.

Me and my dad lost a hunting dog for about 6 or 7 months in the Georgia swamps. We looked for a month straight day and night. We gave up thinking she was gator caught. We had a collar on her with our phone number and address. One spring afternoon, we got a call, this guy said she joined his dogs while they were running and he brought her home and called. She was so thin and weak. We got her weight back on her and healthy but she was never the same, I knew she had been thru alot physically and mentally. So when we would go hunting with the other dogs, we would let her sit on the roads with us and listen. She also littered two champion trophy winning pups afterward. Queenie was the best and a blessing ❤. Said all that to say never give up on a lost pet... P.S. she had traversed over about a 75 mile radius from where we lost her.

Look at him…so cute how he just walks over to your truck as if to say “Whew! I made it in the nick of time…ok, let’s go!” He knows exactly what he wants. Maybe the Lord is leading them to you because He knows you have a big, soft heart for these creatures. Oh-and by the way-your pup in the truck is beautiful!☺️

A simple tag with an address and phone number would have helped a lot. Idk why people rely on trackers/chips. My dog has both a chip and tag

Thank you for the heads-up. I won’t go taking it to the vet to have it checked for a chip then. But I am going to give it cool water, and a treat or two. That’s the minimum a dog lover would do.
