Thankyou Mortym! Very interesting, especially (for me) the stuff about difficulty levels and player-skill VS Player Character-skill.
Es freut mich das du auch ein Gothic Fan bist. 😉
Got off of a 48 hour shift this morning and finally had the chance to play some today. Having a great time with it, never played the original. Thanks for the heads up!
very cool that there are people apreciating the game outside of germany/poland!!! I really hope the remake manages to create a bit of hype, so that gothic 2 and especially gothic 3!!! will be released as remakes as well
Getting this. Next I need sacred 2 remake ❤
My biggest headache right now is the lockpicking, which while interesting, grows tedious super fast and even with master lockpicking some of the locks are just plain impossible and I cant be arsed to spend 15 minutes moving plates around. The second one is general lack of healing, early game you can eat cooked meat but now in act 3 I have a decent chunk of HP and literally nothing to heal with, as potions are scarse and food barely heals. Thats mainyl due to the changes to sleeping/healing mechanic, which should give you x amount of healing for x hours awake but generally feels bugged and most of the time doesnt heal. Apart from these 2 things I am having a blast and hope they give similar treatment do Night of the Raven.
I'm loving this games slow pace
Really looking forward to getting my hands on this, thx for the video! Personally, I like Diff-Options, since I have a close person who struggles with fast-paced gameplay due to a lifelong hand injury. For them, it is great to be able to tone down a game in a way that is still challenging but manageable. Do we already know if Mod-Support is planned? The only thing that annoys me in all the footage is the missing "Lemmy Kilmister" beard of the Nameless Hero - would love to make a fix for that XD
He can review games before it’s released. He IS the most interesting reviewer in the world. He doesn’t always game but when he does, it’s Dos Equis
Mortis... Thank you! You're a breath of fresh air: clean reviews, without rage bait, without ideologic rage, just sensible impressions.
I got it on ps5 and its great and the comparisons are there too. It came with the Classic version also that released early and I played that for a freshen up amd it is a very GOOD remake. Same story and almost word for word same script. Highly recommend
The hitboxes look tighter than their last few games. Hopefully the combat feels smoother too.
I have a 3 week holiday comming start of July. Looks like I have my 3 weeks planned.
Probably will change the language to german, for the good old days. "Alles wird gut und einen schönen Gruß von Diego!"
The main character face though 😅
My backlog is pretty stacked. But this is going to the top of my wishlist for a sale! Never played the original
As a german speaking guy in his 30s, this game is basically my childhood. Gothic 1 and 2 were my second life in my teens and I am so happy that the remake seems to be very good so far. I just entered the old camp and really feel sucked in to the world already
Good review.
I was absolutely loving the time I played, however I only got an hour in before I encountered a save bug that was deleting previous saves so I was losing a fair bit of progress. I’m on PS5 so might be worth waiting for a patch before purchasing if you’re a console player ✌️
No 60fps on the pro. I was already on the fence, but that’s made up my mind. I’ll wait for a patch.
