is that Steve with Path Tracing enabled on the thumbnail?
Steve got that DLSS 5 treatment
Stevegol isn't real, he can't hurt you. Stevegol Thumbnail:
I think PC Builder said it best: “Ray-Tracing has ‘been the future’ for like 8 years now, and it still isn’t here.”
In Fortnite RT max is essential, you instantly know that someone is behind you because of FPS drop.
Steve wants to get himself into that Nvidia blacklist so bad lol.
I didn't know y'all got Asmongold to star in the thumbnail
it was a revolution not in video games, but in marketing
Ray tracing is a brilliant marketing excuse for buying new GPUs and justify extreme prices
VRAM, this seemingly new, transformative technology enabling gamers to game at screen resolutions scaling past 1920x1080 pixels.
The TL;DW is that Steve is standing.
Yes. You get dithered blurry visuals and it only costs you 1/2 of your performance.
8 years later and the 'Future of Gaming' still feels like a luxury tax. When a mid-range GPU in 2026 still loses 40-50% FPS just for better reflections, it’s clear that Rasterization is still the king of efficiency. Native performance and high frame rates will always provide a better gaming experience than heavy, unoptimized ray-traced effects.
Frame generation is the future of gaming. You will render nothing and you will be happy.
HDR probably has more visual bang for the buck impact than RT.
I can count the number of games I've enable RT in on one hand. Control, Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs Legion.
I can't think of a scenario where I would decide to gradually lower everything else, just to enable Ray Tracing. Not a single game qualifies.
Ray Tracing was the attempt NVidia made to upsell people on hardware in an age when graphics had started plateauing until their new, better golden goose, AI, came along to save them. Ray tracing was the 3DTV of video games.
that thumbnail goes crazy
Nvidia used to say Frames win games. Until they didn't.
