His kids are in Ireland…school, friends, family home, job security, good relationship with fans and press.
He's on the way to being a legend, like Jack Charlton
The RFU showed Andy Farrell the door after 2015 World Cup, could never understand why people thought he might go back. Borthwick must be a very relieved man😂
The fact that Andy's roots and his wife's are both Irish is often overlooked. This is a significant influence on his decision to remain with us.
What stinks is how the RFU treated Andy (and Lancaster) after the 2015 WC. Both thrown under the bus. Not surprised by this decision. Absolutely delighted as an Irish fan. No coincidence that Stuart Lancaster is still in the Irish system.
Great news. He’s an absolute legend. Delighted for him and us.
He and his family also really like living in Ireland.
The real question is why wouldn't Andy stay with Ireland?
English? Not having it, his name is Farrell, he is from Wigan, which is basically our Gibraltar. 1000% Irish lad 😅 (tongue firmly in cheek)
England had him but didn't treat him with the respect he deserved. The Irish have massive respect for Andy Farrell . OMG, how lucky are we 🎉
As an Irish guy born in London of Irish parenrs, but reared in Ireland. I am delighted
Congrats to Farrell and to Ireland, hope he continues to do good things there. From an Englishman 🌹❤️
Who in their right mind would sign up with England to get dogs abuse. Andy Farrell is Ango Irish, is well regarded and appreciated in Ireland. He is also very happy living here as he is beloved by his neighbours. He also has access to excellent facilities and freedom within the IRFU Acadamy system which would not be the case elsewhere. His attitude and persona is absolutely compatible with our way of life. He is also well rewarded. Stuart Lancaster was also in our system, went away and was dam glad to come back here to coach Connacht and is also doing well. Finally, I am personally delighted with the good news about Andy's contract extension.☘️☘️
One day when it's all said and done, there are very few coaches who are going to be remembered in thirty or forty years. People like Eddie Jones, Rassie Erasmus, Steve Hansen... And Andy Farrell. Ireland's greatest ever coach, I would say.
Probably the best news we could've heard this year as irish fans. A huge win in itself. Andy Farrell is a fookin good coach
Only rugby channel I watch.Good on for wearing green while delivering such great news.
Shaun Edward’s for Leinster…..
Why would he go back to England, the English fans and media treated him and his son like shit, abuse and vile, you all made them both pack up their families and leave the country!!!
Never commented before in my life on any platform. A major missed factor, I’ve heard… Happiness. He is Irish Diaspora by birth. It’s his coming home. He’s found his people
Great for Ireland, encourages Farrell to keep an eye not just on the next World Cup, but the one after. Great for keeping player development at the heart of the national team.
