Reminds of when Silksong released. A lot of developers were upset at the $20 price point. They absolutely could’ve charged more but they didn’t. Of course they didn’t spend no where near as much in development so I know it’s not apples to apples.
$50 was the perfect sweet spot gaming pricing, 2 games for $100 on a release date with multiple entries is a better than not wanting to spend $70 for one game and holding out for a sale in 3 months

I don’t think even GTA VI can name their price for their base game without it affecting units sold.
The last time I bought a game at $70 was Tears of the Kingdom. Very few games warrant that price. My backlog is too big to care about most new games .
