Made a ton of my opponents rage over getting daggered to death What I “miss” about old Zilean was that his W reduced his ult cooldown, so you had to constantly spam it whenever you didn’t have ult lol

I played at that time. It was so chaotic. Every character felt so strong. Every game there would be someone stomping the game, and that made us want to play that character next game.

6:33 no it was not. Blitz E used to count as 2 attacks not just double damage. This meant it could kill wards faster, and apply on hit effects 2 times.

I can't believe blitzcrank W slow was originally in his kit. I always thought the version that did not have the slow which existed from 2010 till patch 5.7 in 2015 was his original kit.

Another bit of RNG in old League that you missed: Gangplank's ult used to deal damage randomly. You would only be damaged if you were hit by one of the falling cannonballs in the area, the cannonballs fell in random locations. So it was possible to completely wiff the ability despite it being global and a huge AOE 😅💀

DMG with the old Healthbars was so satisfying seeing the big chunk of red slowly disappear

Just some ‘absurd’ lore/story things for classic Swain - despite being the Noxian ‘big bad’, and known as the old creepy bird guy, he had THE most actual character development in classic lore. From the start of his League judgement (short stories explaining why the champ was in the League of Legends), up to the final Journal of Justice (which was an in-universe newspaper and a way for Riot to show lore) showed Swain WINNING by becoming the Grand General of Noxus. At the time his story was in the background and reason for major in-game events - the biggest was the Dominion map launch. It was ridiculously intricate but spread out between him and LeBlanc. Unlike current LeBlanc, classic LeBlanc was actually an ally of Swain, and her League Judgement, how she interacts with Swain, and the number of risks and things she did for him suggested she was legit in love with Swain. You had her League Judgement showing she knew and was concerned about what Swain was doing, newspaper articles where she was his date for his promotion galas, ‘secret’ Black Rose reader letters that you IRL had to decode and revealed she was helping Swain as her own personal decision cos the other Black Rose members warned her about him. She pretended to be Jarvan IV and publicly ‘fought’ Swain to make him look good, and then heavily implied to pretend to be Swain to bodyblock for him in the final duel he had to win to become Grand General. All this was ONLY shown in the JoJ which required people to read, so a lot of people didn’t care the lore reasons for things or even skins (Tyrant Swain skin was because he became Grand General; LeBlanc’s Ravenborn skin is heavily implied to be an outfit she made from the feathers of Swain’s raven form cos under the purple vfx, the outfit’s feathers are GREEN and classic and Tyrant Swain’s raven forms are giant green birds) So yeah, when they remade Swain and now LeBlanc, they inverted their behavior/feelings. It’s implied classic Swain knew LeBlanc’s feelings for him and took advantage of them; CURRENT Swain is openly horny for LeBlanc while LeBlanc is furious with him lol. I talked with the remake Swain lore writer and he was fully aware of the old lore and decided Swain would reciprocate in the new lore lol. Another little absurd bit of Swain trivia - classic Swain was suppose to be only about mid-30s and 20 years YOUNGER than CURRENT Swain. Yes, with that voice and face.

I could get behind a lot of the original designs, even when some of them turned out to be overpowered. The one choice I'll never understand though is making Veigar's old ultimate deal damage based on the **target's** AP. It made him useless against anything other than AP Carries, and it made it so even if you beat him in lane he could still one-shot you with a point-and-click ability. Not only do I have a hard time imagining what was going through their minds to think that was a good idea, it lasted for **years** like that! I don't think they fixed it until around season 6 or something. Truly baffling.
