One touch is all it takes sometimes to identify a pro footballer. If you are a younger footballer watch how consistent these guys are with their passes, their touches, and overall how sharp they are. They make it look easy when in reality, this drill is much harder than it looks.

Skill levels increase in small increments once your in the academies. It's the physical levels that define progress. It's a matter of how long can do you that for rather than how well. Making correct decisions and being able to effectively cover ground for 90 minutes will carry you further up the ladder than raw or learned technical ability.

I can do this in training with consistently perfect first touches, but pros have a mental aspect that allows them to do it on match day, consistently. There's this mental confidence that you need that just lacks all fear of making a mistake.
