AI is going so well for SF that they've raised our prices 6x year over year.
My brother is a coder but he said Claude is worse than any junior dev and doesn't learn the way a human does. He uses it for code review and is experimenting with agents for his company but he loves it for very small, specific tasks and that's about it. I can't stand it - I work in marketing and the output is absolutely awful and hallucinates or misinterprets so much that it's not worth the effort to me to use it. It wastes my time.
Yeah because, now that we have MCU and MCP devboards with generous documentation and open source SDK's, available to the general public for sub 5$ prices, pretty much ANYONE can design robotics and automation right? Right? RIGHT???? Right.... Well at least we have a lot more blinking LED's than we did 10 years ago.... and that's a fact.

I’m a senior dev and I mostly agree. The idea that SaaS is going to die because of ai makes zero sense and isn’t based on evidence. Where is this magic AI tool that going to completely architect a major app and create and provision all the infrastructure. Even if they could, why would a company go to the effort of doing all that and have a far less polished piece of software than something they can just pay for that already exists

I always had the interest in coding, wound up in appliance repair. I’ve vibe coded for probably a year straight. I own an Appliance Repair Business and I’m ready to get out and go into software. I really enjoy using AI tools. Where would you start to get into development? Very good at committing myself and learning. I’ve got a very good grasp of AI tools. I use them almost all day while workings thanks for any advice in advance.
thats like saying because someone invested the automatic brick layer , now everyone builds their own houses. Maybe one day.. who knows.. but AI can't at the moment take no code problem.. and turn that into enterprise application. And for none dev to do that.. that's where AI would have to be. I dont think more compute will solve that.. even AI doesnt. But who knows.. in the future a totally different approach to AI might do.. one day.. but even then.. sometimes people have problems they themselves dont even understand as a problem.. or even understand is the problem. :)
