So much so that his style has been branded as the Antifootball, a total rejection of the passing and possession-based style that Spanish teams pride themselves on. His methods have sparked outrage across la liga, with managers, players and pundits lining up to criticise this way of playing. But while his approach may not be for everyone, it is undeniably effective, and Bordalas has a reputation of overachieving with modest squads, and there’s something a little bit magic in a team like getafe, So let’s take a look at what makes Bordalas so despised, and why he might secretly be a genius. #getafe #bordalas #laliga If you enjoyed this video please leave a like & subscribe for more! __________________________________________________________________________________ KEEP UP TO DATE SECOND CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCoachBook INSTAGRAM:https://www.instagram.com/thefootballmeta/ PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/c/FootballMeta __________________________________________________________________________________ Chapters 00:00 The Anti-Football of Bordalas 01:26 The Gameplan 02:48 The Defensive Shape 04:44 The Hidden Plan 06:06 The Offensive "Tactics" 07:45 Is He Actually a Genius?

I like how when managers with less resources take this route in football and everyone calls it anti-football. What's funny is that even the great teams play the exact way in the champions league and it's called "tournament football". Great video!
Bordalas saw 2014 Atleti and said: "you merely adopted the dark…"
You know what's anti-football? The giant gap in wealth between clubs.

A manager's job in any field is to get the best out of their employees, and he certainly is. People are only salty because he's making life hard for them, good on him.
As a Forest fan let me tell you football isn't all about possession. What right has anyone to criticise their tactics.
Bordalás in press conf when challenged about his style: “This is football, papá!” 😂😂
Spanish Brexit Ball it is
The Spanish Catenaccio.. i think its charming with teams who play to their resources like this. My team in Sweden, kalmar ff , started playing like this when they were new in the top league , but then they progressed and the coach got better players so then he could gradually become more attack minded but still have the same robust defensive structure. Within 5 years they won the league , played Uefa qualifiers against feyernoord , they had the match in their pocket, until our goalie did a huge mistake 1v1 against Roy Makaay. Kalmar FF were so good.
Haramball taken to a whole new level, it’s an absolute pain to watch for any football fan but Getafe are punching way above their weight with that
he converted uche from DM into striker..he is madness, but i love his approach he make getafe effective with the resource that given to him
I'm Brazilian and I say that Bordalás would do very well playing in the Libertadores 😂😂
peak haramball
I think he is just a man that works with what he's got, I remember once he played a CB as a striker as protest because he did not have a Striker in the team, balls of steel
I absolutely despise watching Getafe, but I can’t help feeling that future coaches will study this extreme approach to defensive football and try to incorporate some of its elements into their own tactics, given how effective they can be. This feels like a scientific experiment no one in their right mind would willingly attempt — yet it raises the question of whether it can offer important insights (not necessarily exciting ones) into the future of football.
Haram Football at it's finest and I love it.
I'm a Pontevedra fan. We got promoted this year (24-25) to the third division. We made a huge Copa del Rey run, eliminating two LaLiga teams: Mallorca and Villarreal. Then, we got paired with Bordalás Getafe. We played so much better but lost 0-1. That match almost made me cry 😔
Half the table in Brazil plays like this, the lower half specially, teams like Coritiba, Athletico PR, Goiás, and it works like a charm. There's a team called Juventude (yeh like Juventus) that has stayed in the first division for a while playing like this, when they play home it's almost impossible to beat them
0:10 but it gets worse than that.
He just beat Madrid at the Barnabeu. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
