Nope there's something missing here that you didn't mention and was absolutely essential for him. He was hugely inspired by Ricardo Lavolpe's 2006 mexican national team. That team knew how to play out of the back really well, so much so that according to pep that national team is the best team in recent history to play out of the back. Lavolpe himself was one of the pioneers of playing out of the back he got rid of the traditional 10 role and placed midfielders that have more than one function. He also made sure to play out of the back and play out of one sector of the field in order to have the extra man up top or give you that 1v1.
