This interview is unfortunately one of few. Many players, including Laudrup have said that Cruyff can make you understand perspective or a task in football within seconds. In this interview he says a couple of sentences which explains 10 different things, and the crazy thing is that you learn it immediately. Rest in peace legend.

Cruijff was literally the brains behind total football. Dutch journalists, that were close to the squad, claim that the players would listen more to Cruijff than to Rinus Michels during the Total Football years. Cruijff was the boss on the pitch and steered the players on. He became a manager after his career and carried his philosophy on. He influenced Guardiola massively and then Guardiola carried his vision on.

Everyone who thinks pep is amazing or a genius or anything like that is right and you need to remember it all came from this guy. This is the single person who, by far, had the most impact on football tactics and even though he played in the 70s his principals shaped his teams, therefore shaped pep and so many people are learning from that
