This video inspired me to make an real old school 451 from the real early FM days. Basically a 4321 with lmf, cmf, rmf and two amfs. Works beautifully

My most absurd tactic was a 3-2-3-2, because I was managing a national team that over the course of 20 years only produced midfielders. All 3 defenders were midfielders that could do a job there. The 2 up top were a pair of attacking midfielders on support. Even the keeper was practically a midfielder, 20 rushing out, 19 vision and 17 passing. The drop off to any other player was just too much (the best full back had only 2 stats above a 10) on the plus side the team always had 60+% possession, on the downside it went ten 0-0 games in a row

In CM 03/04, you could set the attacking intent of each player and override the team instructions so if you wanted any of the CM/RM/LM/LWB/RWBs to get up and down the field, you had to put them on Gung Ho with their arrow dragged one square backwards. Got me promoted out of the Championship with West Ham.

4-1-3-2 Wide, draw a line directing the CM between the strikers, Gung Ho mentality, win every game. CM03/04, tactic was called Diablo and it was an actual exploit. I'm old.

The ONLY way that first tactic works is if you put the DLP on Defence (ideally a pacey half-back,) or like you say, ditch the Libero — but I do love creating a good Libero system, which is why I know this doesn’t work. I’m not having that tactic works one bit. His sim is probably suffering from a classic case of Brain Drain where literally every player with good mentals and/or good attacker randomly all leave over a certain period, so no matter how much xG he concedes, no one in the league has the composure or finishing to punish him. Not a sustainable tactic at all.

That last one was just perfection. Totally willing to believe 'Brian Stewart' is actually some Scottish lower league legend like Dick Campbell, living his best life on FM24.

After hundreds, possibly thousands, of hours of tinkering on my tactics over several different careers (my favourite being taking Blyth Spartans from the bottom of the football league to being european champions), I've finally settled on my ultimate tactical set up...a kind of asymettrical 4-1-4-1, with two isomeric forms, which I'd dearly love to submit to your expert analysis but I've no idea how, as I play on the PS5. Nonetheless, it's insanely good, and I'm extremely proud of it :) Love your work, if I can call it that XD.
