This kid is the real deal! How blessed we are to go from the Golden Age of tennis to having young stars in Alcaraz and Sinner to rising stars like Fonseca, Jodar, Shelton, etc. What composure and showmanship from Fonseca today!

It is the first time fonseca played djokovic, great sportsman
The fact he hitted 3 aces to close this match was outrageous. π₯π₯π₯

Djokovic had a good tournament, considering that he played one match on clay prior to RG. 20 yrs. younger Fonseca moves forward, and he could have a bright future. Glad to see that Novak has not fallen off the cliff sharply, and did not lose sets 6:0 or 6:1.

I am not a Djokovic fan. I didn't like all the deception during COVID and the Australian Open, especially. However, I do have to admit that he usually speaks highly of his opponents, and he is willing to give the younger players their flowers when they best him. He is the elder statesman now, and although he is still in excellent shape and plays amazing, quality tennis, I think he knows the time has come when the younger, fresher legs are going to outlast him sometimes and he's accepted that. A great show of maturity. He is someone who has had his share of wins, an amazing career, he doesn't need to justify his talents and his legacy anymore. And hey, he's still a top 10 player at 39 years old. Good for him. That's an achievement in itself. He's the Tom Brady of tennis.
