Ederson is a great player. He can mark, dribble, pass, run with the ball, he is very press resistant, he is quite strong, intelligent, high tempo and he can be the Casemiro replacement but he is not as goal oriented as Casemiro.
I don't want him but I'm not the one in charge 😂. Plus for a player with one year remaining on his contract, the price being quoted should be a turn off!

Ederson is very technical, is mobile, is surprisingly quick and has insane stamina. He might not even be the Casemiro replacement, he can be the Ugarte replacement who ensures we don't drop off a cliff when we bench that new #6 like we do now when Ugarte comes on. And in case of injuries/rotation we can play at 80-90% of our starting quality. For a player like that 35-40m is a great deal lmao. The reason why he's a 35-40m player and not a 60-70m player seems to be that he does have the odd mistake in him, like with Maguire. Which is unfortunate, but it's not un-fixable. And considering he's going to be the backup option it's not as bad, but he does need to work on it and Carrick is probably one of the few who can help him out in that aspect.
Ederson is not included in the 55-man provisional World Cup squad for Brazil. That already sums up everything that is wrong about this purported transfer. Summer 2026 was great because we went for premier league proven players. I do not know why we are reverting to the old failed strategy of going for "value for money" but premier league unproven players like Ederson. Penny wise pound foolish if you ask me. I hope we do our big signings (e.g., Anderson, Tchouameni, etc) first and then buy the remaining pieces later. We have given 100M to Atalanta for Amad and Hojlund and I cannot say we have done great business there. We got lucky with Amad because he actually went on loan and came back. We can literally count the number of academy players who got back to 1st team after going out on loan. Atalanta are tough negotiators and sell players with promise at finished product price, i.e., Mbeumo vs Hojlund. We have a good relationship with them for a reason (because they love fleecing us). Ederson shouldn't cost more than 40M euros so it seems we are back to old ways sadly.
Appears he’s strong and a good interceptor. Ideal for a counter attack team. He can dribble with quick feet in tight spots. Good. Buy.
I’ll take Ederson if he is meant to be part of the midfield depth to truly compete in EPL, UCL, FA Cup & Carabao Cup.
