At the end of last season I was destroyed emotionally. At the end of this year I have so much optimism and hope. What a difference a year makes!

Bruno actually mentioned this in the DOAC interview with Stephen Bartlett. He said it straight up, Carrick wants the team to stick to the non-negotiable base fundamentals and tactics but on field, he lets the players decide on how to read, adapt and play the game themselves as long as they stick to the base he set. It's smart because he's forcing the players to find the answers themselves because they are the ones playing and he can't be with them telling them what to do, like which pass to make or how to move all the time. But the key takeaway is space creation and finding ways to take advantage of space. It's exactly like what SAF did with his teams. Full trust in the team to let them play the game accordingly but set the base rules that they must absolutely not drop

Players are like 80% of the reason for a team's success/failure. Managers like Pep make sure to get in players that would suit their system, they ruthlessly move on players that don't suit their system regardless of how good they are, like when Zlatan was moved on from Barca. Jose has a style and system but once again, he needs players that actually fit his system. Pep is system-focussed but his system will still work only when he has the players he needs. Fergie and Don Carlo are more overtly player focussed in that they will alter their entire system to suit the players they have on hand and give them more freedom to make the in-game decisions. Let's just buy the best available players and not micromanage them and let them play to their own strengths. They seem to respect Carrick and want to play for him, which is for the best. Let's try and get a Tchoua or a Tonali, a Mateus and an Ederson, maybe a Lewis and continue adding not just marquee names but versatile backups so that we have all the possible options we'd need. Maybe next year we can add a marquee 100m left winger like Barcola to complete the team. We need high quality starters everywhere and versatile backups for when needed. That's always been the blueprint of a proper squad.

I'm grew up watching Sir Alex's teams and I'm not a great football tactician - but I sum our style under Carrick up as playing Man United football again. Swashbuckling, exciting, 'we will score one more than you' football. As said, its made me look forward to watching every game, rather than watching United play as a type of penance for being a life long fan. I'm loving it again.

I celebrated at the end of 24/25 season too. 45 now and grew up watching united, glad that younger ones like you also enjoying watching united.

As a United fan, I can't help but wonder how much of our resurgence is directly related to the number of minutes we've played this season, and If we can maintain the quality of football when playing in multiple competitions

Carrick got marginal gains from this squad, to be honest I think most of this came down to Licha coming back into the side. Not only did this mean Shaw and (when fit) Mazraoui) playing their natural positions as FB’s instead of CB,as well as not having to rely on Yoro and Heaven with Maguire also regaining fitness. Licha not only improves Utd defensively but when he does play a ball into midfield it’s generally a better ball. Short term memory to suggest the football was entertaining when Utd were outplayed in most of the games under Carrick. Next season will hopefully be better in terms of team performances as there were quite a few good individual performances and one or two good team performances but not enough. You would hope given Carrick’s midfield expertise that he has a clear vision of what he needs over the summer. Quality and quantity required.

Can you do a video about the left wing reguarding Cunha and Dorgu. Who to start? Dorgu was one of United consistent player throughout until he got injured and I feel it's hard to drop him. But on the other hand Cunha is a goal threat and works hard off the ball too. Who starts the majority of the games and why?
